Senior Centers in the 21st Century
For older persons at risk of losing their self-sufficiency, senior centers offer an array of services that will assist in helping them "age in place". Senior centers can provide a wide range of activities related to health, education, recreation, volunteer and other social interaction opportunities. This is one way the community can support aging with dignity, independence, and community involvement. Centers are also a resource for the entire community, providing services and information on aging and assisting family and friends who are caring for older persons.
